BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. The daily production of gasoline has increased by 7 percent compared to the beginning of the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) by the end of the year, Iran's Deputy Oil Minister and Executive Director of the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Jalil Salari said,Trend reports.

According to Salari, Iran's gasoline production was 104 million liters per day at the beginning of the last Iranian year, and this figure increased to 112 million liters per day at the end of the year.

Salari added that the country's crude oil refining capacity stands at 2.25 million liters per day.

The deputy minister stated that in addition to gasoline, the country produces 111 million liters of diesel, 65 million liters of fuel oil, 6,500 tons of liquefied natural gas (LPG), about 8–9 million liters of white fuel oil, and jet fuel daily.

Salari stated that during the last month of last year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024), an average of more than 300 million liters of petroleum products were transported from refineries (gasoline, diesel, etc.) to different places in the country for use in commerce, industry, transportation, and other areas.

To note, crude oil and gas condensate are currently refined at 10 refineries in Iran.

Currently, more than 70 percent of the gasoline and diesel produced in the country-75 million liters of gasoline and 70 million liters of diesel-are produced to Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards. It is expected that by March 20, 2027, more than 75 percent of this gasoline and diesel will be produced to Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards.
