The number of tourists from Uzbekistan traveling to Georgia from January through September 2021 increased by 173.4 percent to 24,690 visitors, compared to 9,030 people over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Furthermore, the indicator of the reporting period of 2021 also increased by 91.3 percent, compared to 12,908 visitors from Uzbekistan over first 9 months of 2019 (period before the COVID-19 pandemic).
Thus, Uzbekistan ranks 11 among TOP-15 main countries of origin for tourists arriving in Georgia, the report said.
The total number of international visitors to Georgia decreased by 18.5 percent to 1.3 million people over first 9 months of 2021, compared to 1.5 million over the same period of 2020.
According to the statistics, the current indicator dropped by 82 percent, compared to 7.2 million visitors from January through September 2019.
