The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine assigned election of the President of Ukraine on October 25, 2009.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, 401 out of 422 lawmakers registered in the session hall voted for the relevant resolution.
174 lawmakers from the Party of Regions, 155 lawmakers from the BYUT, 26 lawmakers from the OU-PSD, 27 lawmakers from the CPU and 19 lawmakers from the Lytvyn's Bloc voted "for" this resolution, reported Unian.
