BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Turkish ports received 58.3 million tons of petroleum products from January through August 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
The volume of petroleum products accepted by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 4.2 million tons during this period.
"The transportation of oil products by ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 54.1 million tons," the ministry said.
In addition, 27.4 million tons of oil products were transported from the ports of Türkiye in transit from January through August 2023.
Turkish ports received 33.4 million tons of cargo in August 2023.
During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.
Cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 31.3 million tons.
In addition, in August 2023, 5.5 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
According to the information, 260.6 million tons of cargo arrived at the ports of Türkiye from January through August 2023.
Cargo received by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 19.3 million tons from January through August 2023. Cargo transportation to Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 241.2 million tons.
In general, 46.6 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through August 2023.
