Türkiye sees decline in leather exports to Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. Türkiye's leather product exports to Turkmenistan totaled $4.2 million from January through December 2024, marking a 32.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year, the Turkish Ministry of Trade said in its statement, Trend reports.

This December, Türkiye exported $136,230 worth of leather products to Turkmenistan, showing a 66.5 percent decline from December 2023.

To note, Türkiye's total leather exports for 12 months of 2024 dropped by 17.9 percent year-on-year to $1.5 billion.

In December last year, the country’s leather exports abroad reached $110.1 million, down 4.6 percent compared to the previous December.

During the last 12 months (from December 2023 through December 2024), Türkiye’s leather exports to foreign markets stood at $1.5 billion.
