Iranian Nuclear Program Threat to Caucasus Region – Israeli Ambassador

Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 February / Trend corr. K.Ramazanova / The Iranian nuclear program is a threat not only for Israel but also for Caucasus region, Europe and other countries, Artur Lenk, the Israeli Ambassador in Azerbaijan, stated in Baku on 27 February.

" Iran continues it nuclear program in spite of it causes danger for other countries," the Israeli Ambassador stated delivering a speech in the Azerbaijani West University.

The US and some other West countries suspect Iran to develop atom weapons under the so-called weapon for peace purposes statement and demand Iran to stop uranium enrichment. Teheran denies these charges. Iran insists that it develop the program only for peace purposes.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not objective proves confirming presence of military nuclear program in Iran. According to UN Atomic Agency, Iranian specialists managed to develop uranium U-235 on 3.7% level. This level does not allow Iran to create nuclear weapon.

The Israeli Ambassador said that Israel does not adapt against the Iranian people. "The Iranian Government should hold right policy to provide security for population," Lenk said.

UM Security Council passed two resolutions on stop of nuclear program development by Iran and 15 states supported these resolutions.
