Azerbaijan, Baku, Apr. 13 / corr Trend / President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili thinks that Kyrgyzstan is losing its democratic values.
"Moscow blamed us [Georgia] for not keeping our promises. I am not sure what could be done now. I could hardly do anything differently. The values we appreciate are not embraced by Russia. Should I have compromised? If so, we would have been like Kyrgyzstan, losing our democratic values, or as poor as Armenia, whose economy fully depends on Russia," Saakashvili said in his interview with NEWSWEEK magazine.
He said Georgian policy has been independent from the Kremlin over the past years. "We will handle demonstrations as if the Russian issue did not exist, and Russia as if demonstrations did not exist," the President said.
