Heydar Aliyev Foundation, together with the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) implement next stage of the project to increase use of IT by disabled people.

The regional information center is planned to be built in Nakhchivan at new stage, Heydar Aliyev Foundation told Trend on August 13. Disabled people living in seven districts of the autonomous republic will use services of the center.

The center is equipped with modern equipment. There is a reading room, audiolibrary and access to the Internet.

Local network of 20 computers for people lost their sight will be installed in the center. The cente is provided with high-speed Internet. Braille display, special printers will be installed in the center.

A similar center is being constructed in Ganja for more than 60,000 disabled people of Ganja, Naftalan, as well as Agstafa, Dashkesan, Gazakh and other regions.

The first project was implemented jointly with the Fund and the UNDP in 2005-2006. A similar center for children with eye diseases was established within the project.

Heydar Aliyev Foundation was established in 2004. The Fund aims to develop different spheres in Azerbaijan. Projects in culture, education and health are implemented for this purpose.
