Irrespective of the terms, no form of corruption can be justified, Anne Derse, the U.S. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan, stated at a conference held in Baku on 29 November which is dedicated to corruption in education, Trend reports.
She noted that the Government should approach the relevant authorities who have been granted by the nation with this special responsibility. Each case of bribery that takes place is betraying the honor of the nation for his personal interest. There should be no vanity in a democratic society, the diplomat emphasized.
Derse explained the facts of corruption amongst government employees who were on a low salary and noted the importance of establishing strong legal sidelines. She predicts that corruption in the education system is an impediment to the future of the Government.
