BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. TotalEnergies has recorded strong growth in its integrated power production for the first nine months of 2024, with net production reaching 29.7 terawatt-hours (TWh), up 17 percent from the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the producer, this increase was largely driven by TotalEnergies’ strategic focus on flexible gas assets and renewable energy expansion across various markets.
Renewable energy production accounted for 19.6 TWh of the total, marking a 45-percent year-on-year increase as the company continued to scale its solar, wind, and hydroelectric capacity.
Production from gas flexible capacities, however, saw a 15-percent decline over the same period, contributing 10.2 TWh to the total output.
TotalEnergies’ portfolio of power generation net installed capacity reached 21.6 gigawatts (GW), up 36 percent from the previous year.
The company’s gross renewable power generation capacity reached 24.2 GW, with a year-on-year increase of 20 percent. This growth includes recent acquisitions, such as stakes in Adani Green Energy, Clearway Energy Group, and Casa dos Ventos, boosting TotalEnergies’ capacity in key renewable projects.
