ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 15. In 2024, the Atyrau Oil Refinery reached a historic milestone, processing a record 5.5 million tons of oil—marking the highest volume in its 80-year history since its commissioning, Trend reports via the refinery's statement.
Overall production figures for the refinery in 2024 are as follows: automobile gasoline – 1.6 million tons (plan fulfilled at 108 percent); diesel fuel – 1.7 million tons (plan fulfilled at 103 percent); jet fuel – 187,783 tons (plan fulfilled at 132 percent); vacuum gas oil – 257,522 tons (plan fulfilled at 141 percent); liquefied petroleum gas – 213,196 tons (plan fulfilled at 121 percent); benzene – 28,350 tons; paraxylene – 107,617 tons.
The share of light oil products at the Atyrau Oil Refinery in 2024 was 69.2 percent (plan fulfilled at 103 percent). The depth of refining was 85.1 percent (plan fulfilled at 103 percent). As of January 14, 2025, the depth of refining reached 90 percent. The number of incidents – 19 (compared to 186 in 2023, 9.8 times more than in 2024).
To note, the top priority task for Atyrau Oil Refinery in 2025 remains improving the refinery's operational efficiency and ensuring a continuous supply of high-quality oil products to the domestic market.
