ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 16. The oil output volume of KazMunayGas subsidiary, Embamunaigas, reached 2.79 million tons, surpassing the target by 17,000 tons, said General Director of Embamunaigas, Rinat Izmukhanbet, during a production meeting on the current activities of JSC "Embamunaigas", headed by Askhat Khasenov, Trend reports
Askhat Khasenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC, held a meeting during a working trip to Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region. During the meeting, he was informed that work had begun to expand the infrastructure for developing gas reserves at the Western Prorva field. It was noted that the project will be implemented in three phases. The first launch complex is planned to be put into operation in June 2025, which will allow an increase in oil production to 45,000 tons per year and gas production to 160 million cubic meters. The second and third phases are scheduled for 2026-2027. The second launch complex will ensure the production capacity of gas preparation up to 350 million cubic meters, while the third phase will achieve the design capacity of 600 million cubic meters.
It was also noted that this year, the project "Reconstruction and modernization of the oil preparation and pumping workshop at Prorva" will begin. The project aims to gradually replace outdated equipment and modernize the technological scheme, which will increase reliability and raise productivity to 3 million tons of oil per year. The modernization is being carried out in connection with the planned increase in production from new fields.
A task has been set to begin oil production at the Western Karasor field by the end of the year. This will allow an additional 60-65 thousand tons of oil to be produced at the peak of development.
Another investment project—the construction of a gas preparation unit (GPU)—is planned at the South-East Novobogat field. The launch of the field's development will allow for the peak production of 100,000 tons of oil per year.
Measures for further exploration of existing fields were also considered. The implementation of these projects will increase oil and gas production, ensure the sustainable development of the company, and maintain social stability in the region. Embamunaigas has also been tasked with bringing mature fields to a profitable level.
"We need to continue working on improving operational efficiency, with particular focus on increasing oil recovery," concluded A. Khasenov.
