ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 9. During a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Foreign Trade and Participation in International Economic Organizations (IEO) on March 12, 2025, the extension of the ban on exporting breeding cattle and small livestock from Kazakhstan for an additional six months was approved, Trend reports.

"The export ban on breeding cattle and small livestock was initially in effect from September 14, 2024, to March 14, 2025, for a period of six months (per the Joint Orders of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 290 and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 583, dated August 27, 2024, regarding the export of agricultural animals)," stated the Ministry of Agriculture.

As a result, a new joint order was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture No. 100 (dated April 4, 2025) and the Ministry of Finance No. 155 (dated April 7, 2025) to address issues regarding the export of agricultural animals.

The temporary ban aims to prevent large-scale exports and ensure stable growth of the national livestock population.

The order will take effect on April 10, 2025.
