BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22. Azerbaijan imported a total of 2.8 million kWh of electricity from Iran in the period from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that the cost of importing this volume of electricity was $80,000.
Meanwhile, the volume of electricity imports from Iran decreased by 2.2 million kWh (44 percent) and the value by $62,000 (43.7 percent) compared to the same period last year (five million kWh, worth $142,000).
Over the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan totally imported 19 million kWh of electricity worth $581,000. The country imported electricity from to Russia, Georgia, and Iran.
