BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The total amount of loans granted to micro-entrepreneurship entities in Azerbaijan reached 3.07 billion manat ($1.8 billion) by the end of March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) indicates that this marks an increase of 64 million manat ($37.6 million), or 2.1 percent, compared to the previous month (three billion manat or $1.7 billion), and 394 million manat ($231.7 million), or 14.7 percent, compared to the late March 2024 (2.67 billion manat or $1.57 billion).
Meanwhile, the total business credit portfolio of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 14.9 billion manat ($8.7 billion) by the end of March 2025.
As of April 1 of this year, 181,500 micro-entrepreneurship entities operated in the country. The majority of them are concentrated in the following sectors: trade; vehicle repair (35.1 percent), provision of services in other areas (11.4 percent), construction (9.2 percent), professional, scientific and technical activities (7.8 percent), and agriculture, forestry and fisheries (6.6 percent).
