ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 8. The construction of six new renewable energy facilities is scheduled for the next two years in Kazakhstan's Kostanay region, Trend reports.
According to information, the construction of a 22.6 MW solar
power plant will begin in the Beimbet Maylin area of Kostanay. The
project investor, LLP "Altyn Solar Energy," has already completed
the design work and received an expert opinion. Construction will
begin in May, and completion is expected in the first quarter of
2026.
Moreover, the company "GPPP (gas-piston power plant )
'Varvarinskoye'" will build a 40 MW gas-piston power plant in the
Beimbet Maylin area. The facility is expected to be completed in
the second quarter of 2026.
"In the city of Arkalyk, the company 'Aspan Energo' has started the implementation of a new project to build a 50 MW wind power plant. The commissioning is scheduled for June 1, 2026. Two major projects are being implemented in the Kostanay district. The companies 'Mars Wind' and 'Jupiter Wind' have started the construction of two wind power stations with a total capacity of 100 MW. The facilities are expected to be operational by the end of 2026," the regional akimat (administration) said.
Additionally, a large-scale wind farm is planned in the area, consisting of 165 wind turbines with a total capacity of 1 GW. The winner of the auction for selecting the project executor was the company "TuranWindEnergy."
"The implementation of all these projects will allow for a tenfold increase in the production of electricity from renewable sources – from the current 0.12 GW to 1.27 GW. This will strengthen the region's energy independence, reduce transmission losses, and create new jobs," the akimat added.
In recent years, the region has successfully implemented large-scale projects. For example, in 2022, a 50 MW wind power plant built by the company "Zhel Electric" was launched in the Kostanay district. In 2023, another 48 MW wind station was put into operation in Arkalyk by the company "KazWindEnergy."
