BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Azerbaijan welcomed 735,800 foreign nationals and stateless persons from 174 countries from January through April 2025, representing a 1.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that among the visitors, 24.2 percent came from the Russian Federation, 18.0 percent from Türkiye, 11.0 percent from India, 9.0 percent from Iran, 4.7 percent from Georgia, 3.6 percent from Kazakhstan, 2.9 percent from Pakistan, 2.5 percent from Saudi Arabia, 2.2 percent from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), 1.9 percent from Israel, 1.8 percent each from Uzbekistan and China, 1.5 percent from Ukraine, 1.4 percent from Turkmenistan, 1.1 percent from Kuwait, 1.0 percent from Belarus, and 11.4 percent from other countries.
Meanwhile, men accounted for 70.2 percent of the visitors, while women made up 29.8 percent.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors from Israel increased by 2.8 times, from Tajikistan doubled, from China grew by 1.7 times, from Jordan by 45.6 percent, from India by 32.9 percent, from Kyrgyzstan by 32.1 percent, from Spain by 28.8 percent, from Japan by 26.7 percent, from Pakistan by 22.5 percent, from the United States by 20.2 percent, from Kazakhstan by 17.7 percent, from the UAE by 16.6 percent, from Canada by 15.5 percent, from the Netherlands by 10.7 percent, and from both Italy and Egypt by 10.0 percent.
The number of arrivals from the European Union increased by 1.8 percent to 27,800 people compared to the period from January through April 2024, the number of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries decreased by 3.4 percent to 117,800 people, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries decreased by 9.2 percent to 243,000 people, and the number of arrivals from other countries increased by 12.2 percent to 347,200 people.
