BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. The volume of loans issued to medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan stood at just over 1.9 billion manat ($1.1 billion) by the end of April 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) indicates that this marks a decrease of 66 million manat ($38.8 million), or 3.3 percent, compared to the end of March 2025 (1.97 billion manat ($1.1 billion)).
Since April, the total business loan portfolio of banks operating in Azerbaijan has reached 14.9 billion manat ($8.83 billion), up 17.7 million manat ($1.05 million), or 0.12 percent, from 14.9 billion manat ($8.82 billion) at the end of March. Of this total, 984.7 million manat ($582 million) were loans funded through state resources.
As of April 1, 2025, the number of medium-sized enterprises operating in the country stood at 4,100, accounting for 2.1 percent of all commercial entities nationwide. The majority of these businesses were concentrated in the sectors of trade and vehicle repair (34.6 percent), construction (15.4 percent), manufacturing (11.3 percent), and professional, scientific, and technical activities (4.9 percent).
