BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Crude oil and crude oil products derived from bituminous rocks worth $310.4 million and totaling 576,000 tons were exported from Azerbaijan to Portugal from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that
this figure represents an increment of $85 million, equating to a
37.7 percent elevation in monetary terms, alongside an augmentation
of 226,200 tons, which corresponds to a 64.7 percent increase in
volumetric metrics relative to the analogous timeframe in 2024.
During this timeframe, Portugal secured the fourth position in the
hierarchy of nations engaging in substantial oil imports from
Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan exported crude oil and its
derivatives, totaling $5.6 billion and 10.4 million tons, to 17
nations during the period spanning January to May 2025. In
juxtaposition to the corresponding timeframe in 2024, this
delineates a contraction of $615.9 million (equating to 9.8
percent) in monetary value, alongside an escalation of 493,400 tons
(translating to 5 percent) in volumetric output.
