BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. The broad money supply (M2) in Azerbaijani manat grew by 3.9 percent in May of the current year compared to the same period last year, reaching 35.7 billion manat ($21.1 billion).
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that
the external obligations of the banking sector have escalated by
130.8 million manat ($77.2 million) since the commencement of the
fiscal year, culminating in an aggregate of 2.7 billion manat ($1.6
billion).
The alteration in external obligations transpired predominantly as
a result of an escalation in the quantum of transient credit
facilities procured from extraterritorial financial
institutions.
