BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Banks operating in Azerbaijan carried out purchases and sales of 1.13 billion Russian rubles in May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee shows that this indicator grew by 602.16 million Russian rubles or 2.1 times compared to the same month last year (528.6 million rubles).
During the reporting period, the volume of purchases of rubles by the banks amounted to 970.76 million rubles, and the volume of sales was 160 million rubles.
The purchases of rubles increased by 672.33 million rubles or 3.3 times compared to May 2024, while sales decreased by 70.17 million rubles or 30.5 percent.
During the fifth month of last year, banks purchased 298.43 million rubles and sold 230.19 million rubles.
