ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 7. Kazakhstan is implementing the “Digital Silk Road” project, which will create a unified digital logistics map to track all cargo shipments across the country, Finance Minister Madi Takieva said at a government meeting, Trend reports.
The system will visualize cargo movement data, helping authorities identify congestion at roads and checkpoints, monitor road infrastructure, and prevent potential transit fraud. Key elements of the project include the digitalization and geo-location of customs posts, gas stations, temporary storage warehouses, control arches, and toll plazas.
The State Revenue Committee already uses video cameras and control arch data to track traffic. The new platform will provide an additional level of oversight, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid response to deviations from declared routes.
