BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The chairman of Uzbekistan’s state energy company Uzbekneftegaz, Abdugani Sanginov, met with representatives of Schlumberger during Baku Energy Week 2026 to discuss the expansion of cooperation in the oil and gas sector, Trend reports via the Uzbekneftegaz.

The parties emphasized the importance of steadily developing their partnership and reviewed progress on agreements reached during recent talks in Tashkent.

Sanginov welcomed the opportunity to meet again with Schlumberger officials, noting that discussions held in Uzbekistan's capital are now moving into the implementation stage.

Among the key developments discussed were the launch of practical work on a joint center under the Schlumberger and Uzbekistangeofizika brands, the use and testing of perforating charges in two wells, and the introduction of Schlumberger’s well-drilling model.

The head of Uzbekneftegaz also stressed the need to accelerate the preparation of proposals related to these projects to meet production requirements.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in the application of advanced technologies in the oil and gas industry, improving the efficiency of geophysical services, and increasing the use of modern solutions in drilling and well-testing operations.
