"The production of Belorussian optics started in Azerbaijan", Azerbaijani ambassador in Belorussia Ali Nagiyev said at the press conference on Jan. 6, the BELTA agency reported.
According to him, Azerbaijan and Belorussia actively develop relations in all directions, and there are unresolved problems between the countries. Belorussia- Azerbaijan commodity turnover grows per year. Thus, the increase in this index within nine months 2008 in comparison with the same period of the previous year was 28 percent. Moreover, approximately 90 percent of commodity turnover occupy the Belorussian export: tractors, buses, lifts, furniture and agricultural production. The commodity turnover is planned to increase to $500 million.
Azerbaijan is prepared to increase of fruits and vegetables deliveries to Belorussia to several times, create joint ventures for processing of fruits, and supply cognacs and wines to Belorussia, Nagiev added. "The fact that at present Belorussia- Azerbaijan commodity turnover is not only of delivery to finished production, but also sums of the work of joint ventures makes us please", the diplomat said.
The relations in the energy sphere are also sufficiently
slowly and as a result of the world processes developed. Nevertheless, the
agreements achieved by Belorussia and Azerbaijan remain valid, the ambassador
emphasized. Furthermore, Azerbaijan businessmen are interested in investing
into the construction sphere in Belorussia.
National exhibitions also contribute in the development of
cooperation. Thus, Belorussia implemented its national exhibition in Azerbaijan in 2008, and the Azerbaijan national exhibition is planned in Minsk in 2009.
Good relations are also founded between two countries in the sphere of medicine
and public health in the pharmaceutical field. Seriously ill children from Azerbaijan pass treatment in Belorussian hospitals. Belorussian medicines are also planed
to be produced in Azerbaijan.
The countries develop cultural, humanitarian, educational contacts. For example, Azerbaijani cadets hold trainings and obtain specialties in the Belorussian Emergency Situations Ministry educational institutions. The exchanges of musical and creative associations are also planned.
