Azerbaijan State Committee on State Property Management has determined the winner of the tender for the small Balakan hydroelectric power station - the Inter Enerji LLC. During evaluation of investors' proposals the priority was given to the more efficient investment project envisaging restoration of electricity production and reconstruction in line with modern standards, improvement of energy supply, installation of modern equipment and reconstruction of operating hydro-technical units. Inter Enerji plans to invest 525,000 manat in the small hydroelectric power station within a year. The funds will be spent to install various hydraulic equipments and to lay a diversion channel in order to restore the station. Investments will be also spent to purchase electrical equipment and management equipment, to reconstruction work. After implementation of the investment program, the hydroelectric power station will operate at the design production capacity of 304 kW per year. The investor is obliged to transfer 25,000 manat to the state budget and to submit 2,000 shares to the State Committee for cancellation.
As of Nov. 1, 2008, the sales value of the Balakan station was fixed at 14,763 manat. The complex diversion station was commissioned in 1954. Water is supplied to the power station from the Balakanchay River. The station has no accounts payable and accounts receivable.
