Iran's detergent exports increased by 14 percent in terms of value and 7 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Neda Ataei, secretary of the desk for chemical and cellulose products at Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Trend reports citing the organization.

The secretary noted that Iran exported 185,000 tons of detergents worth $76 million over the reporting period.

Ataei added that about 97 percent of the goods were exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and India.

"It is hoped that Iran will export more 150,000 tons of detergent over the next few months," he said.

The secretary emphasized that due to the growing demand for detergents in the region, all the potential for both the supply of the local market and exports is being used.
