The export of goods from Azerbaijan to Turkey in total terms reached $146.8 million in January 2021, which shows an increase of 19.6 percent compared to January 2020, Trend reports on Feb. 22 with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
Turkey's share in the total export of Azerbaijan reached 9.04 percent compared to 5.76 percent in January 2020.
During January 2021, import of the Turkish products in Azerbaijan amounted to $114.3 million, while Turkey's share in Azerbaijan's total import increased by 0.42 percentage points for the year, amounting to 14.52 percent of the total volume.
The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries as of January 2021 exceeded $261.2 million (an increase of 16.4 percent), while the trade balance between Azerbaijan and Turkey remained positive for the reporting period and is estimated at $32.5 million.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover as of January 2021 amounted to over $2.4 billion. More than $1.6 billion, or 67.34 percent, accounted for export, while the remaining $787.5 million, or 32.66 percent, for import.
