Iran sees increase in exports to Kazakhstan

The exports of Iran's to Kazakhstan increased by 22 percent in terms of value and 69 percent in terms of volume during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi told Trend.

The official said that Iran exported about 180,000 tons of goods worth $63.2 million to Kazakhstan in the 5 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, Iran's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to 106,000 tons worth $51.7 million.

“Furthermore, Iran imported 91,700 tons of goods worth $28.6 million from Kazakhstan within the 5 months, which is an increase of 43 percent in terms of value and 69 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” Latifi added.

So, Iran imported 54,000 tons of goods worth $20 million in the same period last Iranian year, the spokesman noted.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover with foreign countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $176 billion over the 5 months. The exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Within 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.
