The U.S Energy Information Administration said that the highest recent level of oil prices can be repeated by 2030 when cost of stuff is forecasted in the amount of $130 per barrel.

"Despite recent economic slump, growing demand for energy resources, especially in China, India and other developing countries, as well as efforts of many countries to reduce access to oil reserves will lead to growth of oil prices in long-term prospective," EIA report on annual energy survey said.

But EIA forecasts another possible scenario. Upon this scenario, oil prices will be rather lower reflecting the fact that big oil producing countries will increase output by increasing share in world-wide volume of oil production.

"If big oil producing countries preserve control over access to their reserves and develop them more slowly, oil prices will increase," EIA report placed at official website of the department.

EIA forecasts average price for U.S light WTI oil in the amount of $42 per barrel in 2009 but $53 per barrel in 2010.

Cost of May contracts for WTI on NYMEХ New-York exchange increased $52.24 per barrel as a result of auction on April 13. Price of May futures for North Sea Brent Oil increased $54.06 per barrel in London.

The Energy Information Administration is the statistics agency of the U.S department on energy established in 1977 by the Congress.
