In 2013 the State Gas Control Department of Azerbaijani Energy Ministry revealed violations of the rules and conditions of gas usage and gas economy at 1358 facilities, a source in the department told Trend on Jan. 14.
The interlocutor said the department held 3063 inspections last year.
Instructions were given and warnings were made regarding 1288 detected cases of violation, he said.
The interlocutor added that 281 cases were reviewed and as a result various legal entities, individuals and public officers were fined a total of 20,300 manats.
In 2012 the department drew up 207 administrative protocols with regard to gas customers. Revenues from fines on the protocols exceeded 55,000 manats. Last year the department held 2672 inspections. The inspections revealed 770 cases of violation of gas usage rules.
Azerigas production association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is engaged in distribution and sale of gas in Azerbaijan.
