As many as 21.5 million tons (171.3 million barrels) of oil were produced in the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan's Atyrau region in January-September 2018, Kazakh media reported with reference to the press service of Tengizchevroil LLP.
"In the first three quarters, Tengizchevroil also sold more than 1 million tons of liquefied gas, 6.9 billion cubic meters of dry gas, and 1.8 million tons of sulfur," said the message.
Tengizchevroil is situated in an area of 2,500 square kilometers, which includes the giant Tengiz field and the smaller but large in reserves Korolevskoye field, as well as several areas promising for exploration.
The recoverable oil reserves of Tengiz and Korolevskoye fields range from 890 million to 1.37 billion tons.
