The opening of a carbamide plant of the Azerbaijani State Oil Company SOCAR and SOCAR Polymer plant of the company in early 2019, as well as the growth of production at other chemical enterprises allowed to greatly increase manufacturing of chemical products in Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to SOCAR.
These steps ensured a 3.6-fold increase in export. This trend is projected to be further strengthened in 2020. First of all, the production of carbamide and polymer enterprises is expected to be expanded up to design capacity.
Moreover, seven more new enterprises of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, which will also affect the growth rates of production and export, are planned to be commissioned in 2020.
Some 600 million manat ($353 million) was invested in the development of the Sumgait Industrial Park in 2019.
