Kazakhstan is in the process of developing new approaches to regulating the gas market, as well as taking measures to increase the resource base, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev said, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.
Nogayev noted that in order to carry out these instructions of the Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev the Ministry is developing a draft Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Gas Industry until 2030 with the involvement of international experts
The minister added that this plan consists of plans for expansion of the gas resource base, ensuring uninterrupted and safe gas supply to consumers.
The modernization and construction of gas transmission system facilities, reform of the gas industry management in order to increase the priority of the gas industry in state administration by separating the National Operator as a separate subsidiary of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund will also be included in the plan.
