BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Azerbaijan exported crude oil and crude oil products derived from bituminous rocks to Portugal worth $189.9 million and totaling 354,000 tons from January through April 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this denotes a surge of $72.5 million, equating to a 61.7 percent escalation in value, alongside an uptick of 163,900 tons, reflecting an 86.2 percent amplification in volume relative to the corresponding timeframe of the previous year.
During this timeframe, Portugal secured the 6th position in the hierarchy of nations engaging in substantial crude oil imports from Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan has engaged in the exportation of crude oil and derivative products sourced from bituminous formations to a total of 17 nations, achieving a substantial financial turnover of $4.6 billion alongside a volumetric output of 8.2 million tons during the initial quadrimester of the fiscal year.
