BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. Azerbaijan increased its electricity exports to Georgia, delivering 450.9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of power from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that the exports brought in $25.7 million, reflecting a rise of 26.2 million kWh, or 6.2 percent, increase in volume, and $4.2 million, or a 19.6 percent, increase in value compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Georgia exported electricity worth $468,900, totaling 7.2 million kWh, to Azerbaijan in the first five months of 2025. This represents a decline of $867,200 (64.9 percent) in value and 13.3 million kWh (65 percent) in volume compared to the same period last year.
Moreover, Azerbaijan exported 658.1 million kWh of electricity valued at $37.4 million to five countries, including Russia, Georgia, Iran, and Türkiye, during the mentioned period. The country also imported 55.1 million kWh of electricity worth $2 million from Russia, Georgia, and Iran.
