BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Azerbaijan has exported 714.3 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks to Portugal, generating $385.1 million in revenue from January through July 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan
indicates that the export valuation experienced a contraction of
$19.2 million, translating to a decrement of 4.7 percent, whereas
the throughput exhibited an uptick of 74.2 million tons,
representing an escalation of 11.6 percent, in juxtaposition to the
corresponding timeframe in 2024 (640.1 million tons, with a
monetary worth of $404.3 million).
In the initial seven-month period, Azerbaijan's international trade
volume reached an impressive $28.8 billion, reflecting a robust
year-over-year growth of 7.25 percent. The export segment
constituted $15.2 billion of the aggregate, whereas the import
sector reached a total of $13.6 billion. In a year-over-year
analysis, the export metrics experienced a contraction of 5.4
percent, while the import figures exhibited a significant
escalation of 26.1 percent. The trade balance yielded a favorable
$1.6 billion, reflecting a 3.3-fold contraction relative to the
corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year.
