South Korean companies are interested in importing Georgian products, said Mikhail Khidureli, head of the agency "Produce in Georgia", Trend reports citing commersant.ge.
Meanwhile, member companies of Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) visited Georgia as part of the forum, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the "Produce in Georgia" agency with the participation of the Georgian Embassy in South Korea. Bilateral meetings of Georgian and Korean companies took place.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze, Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Georgia, Kim Chang-gyu and Chairman of the Korean Association of Importers Kwang-hee Hong.
Khidureli made a presentation on investment opportunities and the business environment of Georgia.
Genadi Arveladze in turn said that this is the first visit to strengthen trade ties and establish new business contacts
“Korean companies represented at the forum are interested in importing Georgian products, such as wines, soft drinks, nuts, juices, and vegetables. Korean companies are also interested in various industrial products. I think that bilateral meetings between entrepreneurs within the framework of the forum will bring results in the near future,” Arveladze said.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the "Produce in Georgia" agency and the Korea Importers Association.
