The number of mobile subscribers in Azerbaijan is planned to increase 8.8 percent by late 2018, a government source told Trend Oct. 27.
The number of mobile subscribers in Azerbaijan will reach about 10.2 million as of late 2014, a statement says.
The dynamics of growth in the number of mobile subscribers in Azerbaijan for the next four years will be as follows: growth is projected at 1.54 percent in 2015, 3.5 percent in 2016, 6.42 percent in 2017. As of late 2018, the number of mobile subscribers in the country will exceed 11 million.
The government also expects stationary telephony market growth.
The total number of the main telephone sets, accounting for every 100 people, will be 18.7 units in 2014. This figure will reach 18.9 units in 2015, 19.2 units in 2016, 19.4 units in 2017, 20 units in 2018, according to the forecasts.
The number of the main telephone sets will increase from 1.489 million (in 2014) to 1.588 million as of late 2018.
