Kazakhstan reveals amount of money transfers from/to Russia

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 10. About 31,810 remittances through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made from Russia to Kazakhstan in May 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 5.9 billion tenge (about $12.4 million).

At the same time, 20.4 billion tenge, or approximately $42.5 million, were transferred from Kazakhstan to Russia through 104,510 transactions via IMTS.

As a result, Russia takes the cake when it comes to the volume of money transfers to and plays second fiddle when it comes to the volume of money transfers from Kazakhstan in May 2024.

Meanwhile, the total number of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 220,000 transactions worth 75.7 billion tenge (about $159.4 million) in May 2024.

Compared to April 2024 (209,400 transactions worth $142.7 million), there is an increase in the number of transfers by 5.1 percent and in the volume of transactions by 11.7 percent.
