ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 16. The volume of gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 30 billion cubic meters from January through June 2024, said Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev during a government meeting, Trend reports.

"The pace of development in the gas industry is evident from the steady growth in the country's gas production in recent years. The production target for 2024 is 60.5 billion cubic meters, or 102.3 percent of the 2023 volume. Gas production in the first half of 2024 reached 30 billion cubic meters, which is 49.5 percent of the 2024 target," Satkaliyev said.

According to the minister, the main increase in gas production is expected to come from large fields such as Karachaganak, Tengiz, and Kashagan.
