Reports on political instability in Kyrgyzstan in the news have already become a tradition. Today, many are asking "Is another 'democratic' revolution to be expected in the country, who needs it and does democracy look like that?"
Today Kyrgyzstan is being covered by a new wave of riots, protests and demands which though call upon to improve the lives of the people are rather a political tug-of-war.
The Kumtor gold mine where the disorder began this time is the subject of speculation rather than the true cause of what is happening. Now the events are flowing smoothly from one region to another attracting more and more participants, each of which pursues his own objective. This time, every small group of protesters is presenting their demands to the Government.
Historically even without political instability, Kyrgyzstan goes through hard times in all aspects of the economic and political spectre and problems in the country must be addressed globally. Instead, there is constant speculation and reshuffling of government posts. Disgruntled does not even want to give officials enough time to try to restore order in the country.
The first revolution in Kyrgyzstan after the collapse of the USSR was unsuccessful because as the practice showed, one ruling group simply replaced another without any qualitative changes in leadership.
Taking into account the previous unsuccessful experience, the second one was designed to improve the life in the country, change the structure of governance and to conduct 'democratic reforms' in the country.
What is a result? Again crowds of malcontents, bullies, bystanders, supporters of a political figure appeared on the streets and make demands. However, it is difficult for an outside observer to understand the requirements.
