BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 5. Gazprom Kyrgyzstan supplied 263.8 million cubic meters of gas to Kyrgyzstan during the first half of 2024, Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the figure represents a 26 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when 208.3 million cubic meters were delivered.
It was noted that the level of gas supply to the population rose from 38 percent in 2023 to 40 percent in the first half of 2024.
Gazprom Kyrgyzstan is the owner of the country's gas transportation and distribution systems and a 100 percent subsidiary of Gazprom, a Russian state-owned energy corporation. The company's priority activities include the supply, distribution, and sale of natural gas, as well as the reconstruction and expansion of existing gas pipeline systems and underground gas storage facilities in Kyrgyzstan.
On June 7, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a long-term contract was signed between Gazprom Export and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan. This agreement outlines the supply of natural gas to Kyrgyzstan's population from 2025 to 2040.
