BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 5. In the first half of 2024, Kyrgyzstan's imports of bitumen and tar from Russia totaled 40,1 thousand tons, marking an 8.6 percent decrease from 43,9 thousand tons during the same period in 2023, Trend reports, citing the analytical company Argus.
The agency noted that the reduction in supply is partly due to financial constraints faced by some consumers.
Additionally, combined diesel fuel deliveries to Kyrgyzstan via the Linear Production Dispatch Station (LPDS) in Petropavlovsk decreased to 102,8 thousand tons in the first half of the year, down from 124,6 thousand tons a year earlier.
"Some diesel fuel was delivered to Kyrgyzstan via a combined route using the Transnefteproduct pipeline system. This route involves pumping diesel fuel to the LPDS in Petropavlovsk, where it travels through the Russian pipeline from Omsk to Ufa. From Petropavlovsk, located in northern Kazakhstan, the diesel is transported to Kyrgyzstan by road," the report states.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 200,9 thousand tons of diesel fuel from Russia, a 28 percent increase compared to 156,2 thousand tons in the same period last year.
The import of condensate from Russia also declined in the first half of the year to 1,8 thousand tons, compared to 8,8 thousand tons during the same period last year.
