Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 3 Dec / Trend , corr. T.Jukov /A meeting with Kai Eide, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, took place in the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the Jahon agency attached to the Foreign Ministry.
"The sides exchanged opinions with respect to the present situation in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan's contribution in the process of stabilization of the situation in this country", is stated in the official information.
The sides touched upon the ways of peace-making and stability lies not at further militarization and expansion of scales of use of force, while demilitarization and realization with aid of the world community of projects, first of all social directivity.
"Kai Eide gave the estimation to the position of Uzbekistan regarding the problems in Afghanistan. Kai Eide expressed appreciation to official Tashkent for that exerted to Afghanistan economic assistance, in particular delivery to electric power and development of transport infrastructure of the country", Jahon agency reported.
