TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 4. The number of tourists from Uzbekistan who visited Azerbaijan in August 2024 amounted to 4,291, the data of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan said, Trend reports.
According to the data, this figure decreased by 44.4 percent compared to August last year, when 4,318 tourists from Uzbekistan visited Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, a total of 29,522 tourists from Uzbekistan visited Azerbaijan from January through August 2024, which is 21 percent more than last year (24,409 tourists from January through August 2023).
Furthermore, Uzbekistan occupied the thirteenth place among 15 countries whose citizens visited Azerbaijan in August.
The data from the agency indicates that among Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan attracted the most tourists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
To note, the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan announced that in 2023 the number of Uzbek tourists to Azerbaijan reached 39,663, which is 51 percent more than in the same period of 2022.
