TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 30. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade signed an investment agreement with China’s Sinoma EC International Investment Co., Ltd. on the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in the Karmaninsky district of Uzbekistan’s Navoi region, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, it is also planned to construct electricity storage systems with a capacity of 75 MW.
The launch of the project will be the next big step on the way to realize the goals of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy to bring renewable energy sources to 25,000 megawatts and the share in the total consumption of the country—up to 40 percent.
Sinoma EC International Investment Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Sinoma Energy Conservation Co., Ltd., established in 1987. The company has a capitalization of $600 billion and 2,000 employees.
