TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 27. Uzbekistan reached an agreement with several innovative Chinese companies - representing small and medium-sized businesses - in the establishment of a joint technology park, Trend reports.
The news follows a meeting between Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, and a delegation led by Yang Hongmei, President of the Urumqi Chamber of Foreign Trade.
in the course of the meeting, the sides discussed strengthening collaboration in energy, automobile manufacturing, urban development, and tourism. A key focus was the establishment of a joint technology park designed to host manufacturing enterprises utilizing advanced technologies.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the involvement of innovative Chinese SMEs will bring best practices to this initiative, contribute to technological progress, and promote local manufacturing in Uzbekistan.
The Urumqi Chamber of Foreign Trade, which comprises 49 companies spanning trade, medicine, culture, education, tourism, mining, food production, and infrastructure construction, plays a crucial role in supporting businesses from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and other Chinese provinces in building international partnerships.
