Iran to commission new gas production and transportation facilities

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Iran's national gas company facilities will be put into operation in the coming weeks within the framework of five projects on gas production, gas pressure increase, and gas transportation, the statement of Iran's Oil Ministry said, Trend reports.

According to the statement, the total cost of these projects is $328 million.

However, with the commissioning of these facilities in the coming weeks, the total number of facilities will reach 155 under the current Iranian government (the current Iranian government has been in power since August 2021). The total cost of these projects is $33 billion.

Iran's Oil Ministry notes that Iran's gas production has increased by 6 percent over the past 33 months. Presently, Iran's gas production is more than 1 bcm of gas daily.

To note, Iran is considered the second-largest gas reserve country in the world, with about 34 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves. At present, 22 gas fields are operating in Iran.
