BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. Iranian Central Oil Zones Company is working on the development of the Mokhtar Yasuj gas field in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad Provinces located in the west of the country, the executive director of the company, Mehdi Heydari said, Trend reports.

According to him, the location of drilling a well for the development of the Mokhtar Yasuj gas field has already been determined and a drilling rig will be placed in the evaluation well soon.

Heydari noted that the appraisal well is expected to be drilled and completed within 7 months. Once this well is completed, it will be determined how many wells need to be drilled.

The official stated that based on the information obtained from the discovery well drilled in the field, the Mokhtar Yasuj gas field is expected to produce 7 million cubic meters of gas daily. However, the exact numbers can be revealed once the appraisal is in the bag.

To note, the Mokhtar Yasuj gas field is located 10 kilometers from the city of Yasuj in Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces. This field was discovered in 1990. It is possible to utilize this field as a natural underground reservoir during field development, gas production, and completion of gas production from the field. Thus, it is possible to inject 1.25 bcm of gas for 8 months of the year and produce 10 million cubic meters of gas daily for 4 months.

Central Oil Zones has 84 oil and gas fields under management in 11 provinces of Iran. To date, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields are being developed. The maximum production potential of Central Oil Zones Company is about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas daily.
