BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Two solar power plants with a total capacity of 17 megawatts of electricity were put into operation on September 25 in Kerman province, located in the southeast of Iran, the representative of Kerman Regional Electricity Company of Iran Mohammad Esmail Mohammadi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, the production capacity of the solar power plant built by Momtazan Cement Company in Zarand district of Kerman province is seven megawatts, and the plant is linked to the country's power grid.
Mohammadi pointed out that the production capacity of the solar power plant established by Kish Green Energy Company in the Zarand district of the province is ten megawatts.
The official noted that the aforementioned plants have been built with the investments of companies marked by the cooperation of Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Consumption Organization.
He added that the process of constructing solar power plants in Kerman province is in full swing.
To note, the production potential of renewable power plants in Iran is 1,141 megawatts. It is expected that by March 20, 2025, 1,254 megawatts of electricity will be added to the country's production potential through renewable power plants.
